Every MONOROW Bag, Compared: Woven and Reclaimed Leather

MONOROW Blanc Medium Bag in Burgundy Brown reclaimed leather, a domed top-handle satchel with a detachable strap

Seven MONOROW bags, two materials, one quiet Seoul design language. Here is how to pick yours.

Is MONOROW real leather? Some of it is. Noa, Juri and Vena are woven vegan leather. Sara, Blanc Medium, Arc and Jude are reclaimed leather, cut from real cowhide offcuts, and Sara also comes in a soft faux suede.

That split is the most useful way into the range. The woven bags are light, textured and forgiving. The leather bags have cleaner lines and more structure. Below, all seven sit side by side, with what each one actually carries.

Already down to two? Our MONOROW Noa vs Juri comparison is the deeper head-to-head between the roomy hobo and the compact shoulder bag.

What Is MONOROW Known For?

MONOROW is a Seoul label with a soft, minimal hand: rounded shapes, muted colour, and no logo doing the talking. Every bag is made in Korea by artisans with decades at the bench. Our personal shoppers buy the edit in person in Seoul, and our team checks each bag before it ships.

The Woven Bags: Noa, Juri and Vena

Woven vegan leather with a cotton and polyester lining. The interlaced texture catches light at every angle and hides small marks inside the weave, so these are the easy, everyday choices.

MONOROW Noa Bag: the roomy hobo

The MONOROW Noa Bag is the biggest of the seven: 38cm wide, 26cm high and 14cm deep, on a 60cm strap. It takes a 13-inch laptop in the main compartment, the central zip compartment is sized for an 11-inch iPad, and an inside zip pocket keeps the working day in order. The weave drapes softly rather than standing boxy on the shoulder. Black or Choco Brown. For the full verdict on this one bag, read our MONOROW Noa Bag review.

MONOROW Juri Bag: the compact shoulder bag

The MONOROW Juri Bag keeps the weave and loses the bulk. It is 20cm wide, 22cm high and 12cm deep on a 33cm strap that holds it close under the arm, sized for daily essentials without excess bulk. Four colours: Beige and Ivory for the warmer months, Black and Choco Brown once the coats come out.

MONOROW Vena Bag: the rounded top handle

The MONOROW Vena Bag is the lightest in the range at 250g. One top handle on a 44cm strap sits on the shoulder or folds into the crook of the arm, so the same bag reads two ways. It holds a phone, cardholder and keys without losing its rounded shape. Black or Plum Brown.

The Reclaimed Leather Bags: Sara, Blanc Medium, Arc and Jude

Reclaimed leather begins as real cowhide, left over after cutting. It keeps the grain and hand-feel of leather, weighs less than a standard hide, sheds water and stains, and wipes clean with a soft damp cloth. All four hold an 11-inch iPad.

MONOROW Sara Bag: the shoulder tote

The MONOROW Sara Bag is a clean, softly structured tote, 30cm wide with a 36cm handle drop that sits easily over a coat. Black, Burgundy Brown, Camel and Etoupe are reclaimed leather. Suede Camel and Suede Choco Brown are a brushed faux suede with a matte nap, made for the cooler months; like any suede finish, they can transfer colour under heavy friction, so they suit darker clothes. Desk to dinner without looking like a work bag.

MONOROW Blanc Medium Bag: the satchel that goes crossbody

The MONOROW Blanc Medium Bag is a domed top-handle satchel with a slim belt down the front and a detachable strap that adjusts from 84cm to 104cm. By the handles it reads office; on the long strap it goes crossbody for a day of errands. At 350g it is the lightest leather style. Black, Burgundy Brown, Camel or Etoupe.

MONOROW Arc Bag: the city bowling bag

The MONOROW Arc Bag is a rounded bowling-bag shape with a full zip top, two slim handles on a 28cm drop and a small padlock charm on the zip pull. It tucks close under the arm with a long coat. Black, Burgundy or Etoupe.

MONOROW Jude Bag: the slouched flap

The MONOROW Jude Bag is a soft flap bag that lies flat against the body. A deep front flap falls over a metal clasp, with a slim logo plate at its edge and nothing else to break the line. It pairs easily with tailoring. Black, Burgundy or Etoupe.

Which MONOROW Bag Should You Choose?

Put what you carry every day on a table first. The sizes differ more than the photos suggest.

Style Material Size (W x H x D) Carry Weight
Noa Woven vegan leather 38 x 26 x 14cm 60cm strap, shoulder 700g
Juri Woven vegan leather 20 x 22 x 12cm 33cm strap, close under the arm 310g
Vena Woven vegan leather 22 x 20 x 10cm 44cm strap, shoulder or arm 250g

Blanc Medium Reclaimed leather 31 x 22 x 14cm Top handles, shoulder or crossbody 350g
Arc Reclaimed leather 34 x 20 x 12cm 28cm handle drop, under the arm 400g
Jude Reclaimed leather 34 x 22 x 10cm 28cm handle drop, shoulder 480g
  • The roomiest carry: Noa.
  • One bag that does office and weekend: Sara.
  • Hands-free days: Blanc Medium on its long strap.
  • A structured shape under a coat: Arc or Jude.
  • Just the essentials: Juri, or Vena if you want a top handle.

SoJan tip: the woven finish is the one to keep away from perfume and hand sanitiser, since ethanol can dull it over time. Let your scent settle before a woven bag goes on your shoulder.

What to Carry With It

Our personal shoppers usually add one small Tokyo piece to a MONOROW bag, most often the ReFa HEART COMB Aira, which folds down to slip into a small bag. Our Everyday Seoul Bag Edit has more pairings.
