ReFa's new line is built around one area: the fringe and the pieces that frame the face. The names are easy to mix up. Two are called HEART COMB IRON, one is an AIRA, one is a HEART, and only some of them heat.

The Two Comb Irons
ReFa HEART COMB IRON
Cap on, it is a quilted pillar studded with small hearts. Cap off, it is a heated comb. ReFa's Heat Fit structure holds the hair while carrying heat evenly along the teeth, so bangs and side pieces are combed and shaped in the same pass. It is rechargeable over USB Type-C, with a choice of about 140°C, 160°C or 180°C.
A full charge takes about 2.5 hours and gives about 8 to 10 minutes of use, and it cannot be used while charging. It weighs about 70g without the cap. Five colours: Gold, Silver, M Pink, M Mint Green and M Purple.
Best for: anyone who wants to choose the heat and style away from a socket.
Limitations: the run time suits touch-ups, not long sessions. Dry hair only, the pins get hot, and ReFa says to wait a few days after colouring or perming.
ReFa HEART COMB IRON Aira
The Aira is the lighter, simpler iron. A heart sits on the handle, the teeth are black, and at about 44g it is held like a brush. It has one setting, about 160°C, so there is no dial. Connect the cable and press the button: ReFa's guide says a white lamp blinks, then turns solid once it is warm.
It is powered through USB Type-C rather than a battery, so it needs a USB-C adapter or power bank. The cable and a pouch are included; the adapter is not. Same five colours as the HEART COMB IRON.
Best for: a daily fringe routine at the mirror, with nothing to charge or choose.
Limitations: it is not cordless. Same safety notes as the other iron: dry hair only, hot pins, and a few days' wait after colouring or perming.
The Four Pieces Around Them
ReFa AIRA MIRROR COMB
A comb that opens to a glass mirror. The width follows an average face, so a wide section of fringe is caught in one pass. The teeth are shallower at the sides for layered pieces that scatter, and shallower again toward the tip for fine, loose strands. Comb, switch your grip, check. The mirror is engraved with a small "for you".
About 28g, 121mm closed, with a dedicated case. Chrome-coated marquise teeth reduce static. Six colours: Rose Gold, Silver, Aqua Blue and the three M Collection shades.
Best for: checking the finish without reaching for a compact.
Limitations: it does not heat. It is a comb with a mirror.
ReFa AIRA POINT KEEP
The one that is not a comb. A brush-on hair styler in an 8mL heart-shaped tube with a slim, short-bristle brush. It holds bangs and fine face-framing strands without hardening them. Hydrolysed keratin and chia seed oil are in the formula, a cuticle coating helps against daytime humidity, and it carries a light fragrance. Use the tip on bangs, the centre for layered side pieces, and smooth short hairs along the hairline.
Best for: flyaways and hairline strands that a comb leaves behind. Four colours: Rose Gold and the three M Collection shades.
ReFa HEART NEW LOOK
A heart-shaped comb that fits the palm, about 35g and 9mm thick. The teeth narrow toward the tips to slip between strands, and ReFa's Mirage Coat runs to the end of each tooth to reduce friction and static. The ball at the tip presses onto pressure points, which ReFa positions as a way to reset between styling. A protective case is included. Five colours, including Shine Black.
Best for: an everyday comb for the bag, and a gift for someone who already owns a brush.
ReFa AIRA CASE Jewel
A rhinestone case with a swinging ReFa logo charm, made for the folding HEART COMB Aira. It clips to a bag, the lining is a suede-look fabric that protects the tips of the teeth, and the inside wipes clean. It reads as an accessory first and a case second. About 26g, in seven colours: Pink, Silver, Gold, Blue and the three M Collection shades.
Best for: owners of the HEART COMB Aira.
Limitations: ReFa names the HEART COMB Aira as the comb it is made for.
