The ReFa Heart Mirror
The ReFa Heart Mirror is a heart-shaped compact mirror from Tokyo, built on a 2mm glass pane in a reinforced frame, at roughly 35g and 7mm thick with a protective case included.
The thing that separates a good compact mirror from a bad one is glass thickness, and it is the first thing most brands cut.
Thin glass flexes very slightly in its frame, and that flex distorts the reflection at the edges. You notice it doing fine work: edging a brow, checking a fringe, blotting under the eyes. A 2mm pane is thick for something this size, and the result is a reflection that stays true out to the rim rather than only in the middle.
The frame is the second half of it. A reinforced edge runs the whole way around the glass, so the mirror takes the knock of a dropped bag without chipping at the corner, which is where compact mirrors usually fail. It stays thin enough to disappear into a clutch regardless.

The ReFa Heart Aira WITH
The ReFa Heart Aira WITH is a fixed heart-shaped anti-static comb from Tokyo, with Marquise curved teeth under a chrome coating.
A rounded heart, about 96mm across and 39g, with two things going on in the teeth.
The first is the tooth shape. Each one curves in toward the centre rather than sitting straight, which ReFa calls its Marquise structure and runs across the comb range. A straight pin meets the hair shaft square on and drags against the cuticle. A curved tooth moves with the hair instead, which is why the comb feels gentler on fine or colour-treated lengths than the friction of a plastic comb.
The second is the finish. Each tooth carries a thickened chrome coating, and chrome disperses static charge as hair passes through rather than letting it build the way plastic does. On a dry day, with fine hair, that is the difference between combing your hair flat and combing it into a halo. It works best with slow, deliberate strokes, which give the coating more contact time.
A cleaning cloth comes with every comb, which the chrome does genuinely need if you want it to keep looking like this. Rose Gold, Silver and Champagne Gold.
What is the difference between the Heart Aira WITH and the Heart Comb Aira?
They are different tools. Both use the Marquise teeth and the chrome anti-static coating. The difference is the body.

The M Collection: M Pink, M Purple and M Mint Green
ReFa groups these three under its M Collection. At SoJan they run on the Heart Brush and the Heart Comb Aira, and on the AURA scalp brush in M Pink.
The line arrived in Japan in April 2026, launching across six pieces at once rather than as one new colour on one tool. ReFa has kept extending it since, onto the Aira WITH comb, the Dry Me hair towel, the Marquise Compact and even the Fine Bubble shower head, and has said the colours will keep appearing on future products.
That distinction is worth knowing. ReFa's other recent heart-brush colours were closed runs tied to a single retailer, the Marble shades through LINE Gift and the Earth shades through Cosme Kitchen, and both finished when the allocation did. The M colours are the opposite case: a standing line rather than a seasonal drop.
They are not simply new colours poured into the same shell. The finish is a pearlised metallic with a fine sparkle worked through it, so the shell reads as slightly frosted rather than mirror-polished, and it shifts more than the standard finishes do as it turns in the light. On the brush, the pin bed is a pale ivory rather than the usual white, which softens the whole object considerably.
M Mint Green is the one worth looking at twice. Mint is a difficult colour to do in a metallic finish without it tipping into either hospital green or something plastic, and this one sits closer to sea glass. M Purple is the deepest of the three, and M Pink is the softest and the one that reads closest to the classic Rose Gold.
On the folding comb the same finishes sit against chrome teeth rather than a pale pin bed, so they read cooler and more jewellery-like than on the brush. Worth knowing if you are buying the pair and expecting an exact match.
The colours launched inside a campaign ReFa calls its Beauty Showcase, fronted by MISAMO, the Japanese sub-unit of TWICE, named as the muse for the brand's haircare range. At the Ginza launch the three shades were handed out as ribbons. What ReFa has still never published anywhere is what the M actually abbreviates.
The M Collection runs on the AURA too
The three colours reach past the heart shapes and onto the ReFa AURA, the gold-pinned scalp brush, which we carry in M Pink. Which should you carry?
Route it by what is already in your bag.
- If you carry a compact mirror and it is scratched or cracked at the corner, replace it with the Heart Mirror. That is the whole case.
- If you carry a brush and only ever use it to flatten your hair rather than detangle it, a comb does that job in less space. The Aira WITH for a handbag, the Heart Comb Aira for a pocket.
- If you already own a Heart Brush Ray, you have a mirror in the lid already, so the comb is the piece that adds something. We have explained how the Ray works in full here.
- If it is a gift, the mirror is the easiest of the three. It suits anyone, in any colour, with no need to know their hair.
SoJan tip: keep the mirror in its case. It ships with one for a reason: the reinforced frame protects the glass from a drop, but nothing protects a mirror surface from being carried loose against keys, and the scratch that ruins a compact mirror is almost always that one.

Are the small pieces worth it?
It depends on whether you are the sort of person who checks their hair when they are out. If you are not, a mirror is a mirror, and what you are paying for is the glass and the frame rather than the shape.
If you are, the case is simpler than for a hair tool. There is no performance claim to test: the mirror is clearer at the edges and survives being dropped, and the comb does not put static into fine hair. You either notice those daily or you do not.
